Consulting History
M. David McCorquodale has been involved in Consulting, Staffing, and Executive Search since 1993. He began his career as a Branch Manager for a consulting and staffing organization in Florida. From there he moved to become, President of a Consulting/Staffing company from 1994 to 1996. At that point, he opened his own company in 1996, initially starting out as an Executive Search firm. With a successful run of 22 years, not only has MDM Executives expanded our operations in other industries, but we are also "returned back to our roots" in Consulting.
Consultant Search Philosophy
We have an interview process that is simple in some ways and deep in other ways. Simply said, if a candidate shows traits that are not up to our standards, they will never be presented to our clients.
Potential candidates must first pass several tests at our level, before rising to the level of being presented to our clients.
We ask. We listen. We watch. And this process repeats itself, until we “decide.” Our clients will never see a potential candidate until we are certain. Beyond that, we look for what we believe will be synergy – a match between the culture of the client and the spirit of the consulting candidate.
Will they be team players? Is he or she one to help a colleague out when they’ve slipped, or a friendly gesture is needed?
We understand that individuals who get along with others are more apt to share important findings that are pertinent to the status and timely delivery of a project.
Communication skills are critical. We understand the importance of regularly scheduled client project reviews on both a short and long term basis. An active dialogue between the consultant and client insures very little falls through the cracks.
The more our firm has matured, the easier the process has become. And, the network/rolodex has grown. At this stage we have reached the 2nd, 3rd and 4th placements for hundreds of consulting candidates.
